Heavy duty linkage kit for Beta EVO

To eliminate the problem of the limited life of original bushings and bearings, the assembly of components visible in this photo has been redesigned.

The kit is suitable for all Beta EVOs fitted with connecting rods code 007.33.031.00.00 (Standard and Factory), triangle code 007.33.030.00.00 (Standard) and triangle code 007.33.092.00.00 (Factory).

With these steps we offer a guide to the assembly of the heavy duty linkage kit for your Beta EVO.

STEP 1

1 – Just disassembled connecting rods and triangle
2 – We remove the bushings
3, 4 – We remove bearings and dust seals with the help of a vice or a press
5, 6, 7 – Connecting rods and bare triangle

STEP 2

8 – Let’s get ready for assembly
9 – After cleaning the holes we check that nothing is damaged
10 – We grease the inner surface of the holes
11 – We insert a dust cover
12, 13 – With the help of a vice or a press we push the dust cover flush with the edge
14 – We insert a bearing
15, 16 – Always with the help of a vice or a press we insert the bearing

STEP 3

17 – We send bearing to stop on the dust seal (do not exaggerate with the pressure!)
18, 19 – We insert a dust cover on the other side and send it flush with the edge
20 – Connecting rod ready for inserting the bushings
21 – ATTENTION Insert a bush with a small hole and one with a large hole in each connecting rod, trying to avoid accidental release of the rollers.
22 – Connecting rod correctly assembled

STEP 4

23 – Let’s deal with the triangle
24 – ATTENTION Let’s insert the bearing first
25, 26, 27 – We use the service washer to protect the triangle during insertion
28 – We insert the service thickness to simulate the presence of the grease shield
29 – Let’s take the washer back and reposition it for protection
30 – We send the bearing abutment on the thickness
31 – The thickness must be flush with the edge
32 – We remove the thickness

STEP 5

33 – We insert the grease guard by hand
34, 35 – We insert the bushing through the grease guard, trying to avoid accidental spillage of the rollers.
36, 37 – Push the bushing into the bearing until it protrudes slightly from the opposite side.
38, 39, 40 – Insert the other grease shield, first on the protruding part of the bushing and then, using the same Ø 28 washer, in its seat on the triangle. Be careful not to deform the inner lip of the bearing (see STEP 6 for help).
41, 42 – Press the grease guard until it is completely inserted

We have completed the operations to be performed at the workbench!

STEP 6

43 – If in the last stages it happens that the lip of the grease guard undergoes a deformation do not worry: it can be remedied!
44,45,46 – With the help of a thin and blunt tool inserted between the bushing and the lip of the grease guard, for example the eye of a needle, it is possible to put everything back in the right position.
